THE BACK STORY
"I go to seek a Great Perhaps."

L-R: Francois Rabelais, Looking for Alaska Book,
and a portrait of the book's author, John Green.
This phrase was used as
one of the center themes for John Green's
bestselling novel, Looking for Alaska. Quoted by Francois Rabelais,
a French Renaissance writer, doctor and
a scholar, was famous for this phrase
which was said to be his last words that intrigues many people who have heard of it. We're all in search of
our 'Great Perhaps', whatever that
'Perhaps' is. As what was the novel is trying to point out, this 'Great Perhaps' pertains to the meaning of life- understanding where we would fit in this
world and how are we going to live our
lives, what is the reason behind all the situations that we are experiencing, the possible things that we
might encounter, what is important and
not and what can we do about it, whatever life really is all about. In reality, many of us have a lot
of questions about all the things that
we are encountering in life. We keep on finding answers to the issues, may that issue be of our own or
the society. But by looking at the
definition of 'Perhaps', we can say that there can be hope or a big possibility that we can find the 'Great
Perhaps' that we are trying to seek.
To help others find their
'Great Perhaps', our group have decided to come up with a blog focusing on contemporary realism in hopes of
showing readers the hidden beauty and
lies of everything we encounter. We believe that we can easily express and make the readers immerse
in old and new issues through
contemporary realism. Sitting in between the classic and the modern times, the blog may be not be only
considered as conservative, but as well
as open to new ideas found within our time. Broadly defined as “the faithful representation of reality”,
Contemporary Realism aims to represent
subject matter truthfully, without artificiality. This attempts to reveal the truth, giving due
attention to every circumstance of
subjects and situations conditioned by heterogeneity of ideas and entities. As part of the modern generation,
this theme would unleash our true
feelings that would make our articles turn into great masterpieces. It will reflect the reality
seen by our naked eyes, by the eyes of
the young people who seeks for development. Through this blog, our questions about our 'Great Perhaps' may
be answered.
